EPVS assesses the information and calculations used during the sales process, helping to ensure that the expected energy generation, savings and other financial benefits presented to you are based on aproved methodologies and appropriate information about your property and proposed system.
In simple terms, EPVS helps give you greater confidence that the numbers you are being shown are realistic - not simply optimistic sales estimates.

EPVS validation helps ensure that the performance and financial estimates included in your quotation are calculated using appropriate, approved methods and accurate inputs. This can include factors such as your property's characteristics, location, energy requirements and proposed system configuration.

Independent validation of your installation.
EPVS is independent of Regen Renewables. Once your contract and relevant documentation have been submitted, EPVS reviews the information and calculations before issuing an EPVS Validation Certificate when the requirements have been met.
Your certificate provides confirmation that the savings and benefits presented to you were based on approved methods and calculations.
Protection against misleading performance claims.
The renewable energy industry involves complex calculations, and estimated savings can vary significantly depending on how a system is designed and how a property's energy is used.
EPVS exists specifically to reduce the risk of consumers being influenced by unrealistic or misleading performance projections. Its members are subject to an onboarding process and ongoing monitoring to ensure they continue to meet the required standards.

Additional consumer protection.
EPVS membership also requires certified installers to have appropriate consumer protection arrangements in place.
For applicable installations, this includes an Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) supporting the installer's workmanship warranty. This can provide protection if, in the unlikely event, the installer ceases trading and is unable to fulfil its obligations.
EPVS members must also adhere to an approved Consumer Code, giving customers access to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) where an issue cannot be resolved directly with the installer.
These protections provide another layer of reassurance beyond the installation itself.
Your installation can receive an EPVS Validation Certificate.
Following successful validation, you will receive an EPVS Validation Certificate confirming that your installation documentation and the associated performance and financial estimates have been reviewed.
This gives you a useful record of the information that was provided and validated as part of your purchase.
